Vision and Mission:
“Nordstrom’s Commitment: In store or online, whenever new opportunities arise—Nordstrom works relentlessly to give customers the most compelling shopping experience possible. The one constant? John W. Nordstrom’s founding philosophy: offer the customer the best possible service, selection, quality, and value” (Nordstrom Website).
Future Plans and Strategies:
Nordstrom puts a lot of effort into their strategic and future planning. In this current year, they have plans to open at least three more stores, and they plan to continue to expand further with their Nordstrom Rack clearance/outlet stores. Nordstrom expects to reach a total of 230 Nordstrom Rack stores by 2016 (Nordstrom Website). They are also planning on stretching beyond U.S. borders and entering into the major cities in Canada. On top of all of that, they are placing a huge emphasis on technology and utilizing technology to create an easier, more efficient shopping experience for their customers. They have 24-hour-a-day shopping access at Nordstrom.com, free shipping and an easy return policy, and they continue to keep up to date with technology through providing customers with shopping apps, on-the-spot item location, and register-free transactions.
